Day after day we take calculated risks to assess our importance but also to legitimize the angst of our daily hustle. We work countless hours looking to build in a system that is designed to hold us down. The vicious cycle of life will humble you every opportunity that presents itself if you aren’t readily equipped with the instruments to defend yourself properly.
The system is flawed because in order to get a good job, you need a good education. The problem is that a good education costs money that you don’t have. That creates a vicious cycle that has people feeling like they are under a rock. The pressure of borrowing money takes a toll but it is a necessary evil to begin the process of your dream. After borrowing the money, the pressure to perform at a high level in school is real.
To obtain the American Dream, you have to put in the work to position yourself for a better tomorrow. After you complete that education you have to find a job to help absorb and pay off the debt that you have accumulated. You spend years paying off debt that you racked up in four to five years.
The system seems flawed in that aspect because to obtain a dream, you have to subject yourself to a system that is designed to keep you oppressed. The only real way to free yourself from it is to figure out a way to get the education and the job without breaking the bank. Between the hustle for an education and your legitimate living expenses accompanied by the prospects of building a career, family, and social status you realize that the system isn’t perfect.
American promises everyone, Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness. It doesn’t specifically say that Pursuit will be easy or cheap. It just promises you that Happiness is a possibility for you at a price. The question is, are you ready to pay that price to obtain Happiness?
