November is one of my favorite months. I love fall weather and October and November usually deliver in a big way. I love getting outside and interacting with people without having to worry about sweating and overheating. Ironically I usually get in better shape and feel better during these months because of the weather.
I love the fact that I can sleep with the windows open day and night. When I go to bed the temperature is usually around 65 degrees and when I wake up I can be under the covers with a crisp 50 degrees biting at my skin. Taking in that fresh air is great for my neurons and makes me feel alive and energetic.
November also marks the beginning of the end of another year. 2016 has been anything but stellar but it hasn’t been an epic fail either. I’ve probably been more financially strapped this year than any other year previously but a lot of that was due to some bad investments and a child that’s getting more expensive by the day. You can best believe I’ve recalculated how expensive she’s getting for the next few years.
People come and go in your live every year. I lost a couple of really good friends to the upper room but I’ve also made a couple of friends who are already making a big splash in my life.
I also reconnected with my passion for fitness. I’ve even met a couple of people online who are as passionate as I am and we share workouts and information that has me even more excited as I dive into a realm that I’ve never visited before when pushing my body.
November begins the time you spend with your family. Holiday season is on the horizon and it sometimes saddens me that I’m not as close to my family as I once was. Life pulls us into different directions but family connections should never be threaded by where you live, what you’re doing, and how you do it. Unfortunately my family has never really been very close and ironically I’ve been the glue that held it together for a lot of years.
As I continue to reflect on this year, and where I’m headed, I can only hope that someday more of my dreams will start to come true. If I can ever find the ability to get out of my own way and start accepting what the universe is trying to provide life will get a lot easier for me.
That being said, lets finish 2016 off like a champion. Let’s do things we wouldn’t normally do and go places we wouldn’t normally go. Let’s appreciate the process and those who have helped us the most in our lives.
